Les Pays-Bas

After 2 years of photographing professionally, it being my prime source of income, I wanted to nourish my passion for it by starting a continuous project that would allow me, in a way, to let go of the control and strive for perfection that come with shooting paid jobs. The project is basically just me shooting anything that crosses my path and triggers me in everyday life and so I’ve called it Les Pays-Bas. It could be interesting shadows or colors on my way to the supermarket or a man reading a newspaper that catches my eye, anything goes. But more importantly, it could also be nothing at all on my way to work, not a single click. You get the idea: no pressure!

For this I needed a camera small enough to bring with me everywhere and always, so I bought the Fujifilm X100F, a premium fixed lens range finder camera and basically a poor man’s Leica. A little black unobtrusive box without all the bells and whistles of a modern day DSLR. A simple camera that does one thing only and does it very well.

So to start off Les Pays-Bas, here’s a selfie the camera took and a photo from my first walkabout. Enjoy! Or not! That’s the whole point :)
